What Our Patients Say About Us

We created Revitalize Physiotherapy with the goal of providing high quality, compassionate, individualized care. We work diligently to ensure that all our patients’ needs are met, and expectations of what a physiotherapy clinic should be, are surpassed. Our patients are our priority, and we are so grateful to be able to help in their recovery.

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the body’s musculoskeletal system—the bones, joints, muscles, and connective tissues—and how they work together. Instead of simply chasing symptoms, osteopathic treatment considers the whole person, searching for the root of discomfort or dysfunction.

Using gentle hands-on techniques like stretching, subtle joint movement, and soft tissue work, osteopaths help ease areas of restriction and improve circulation, alignment, and mobility. This isn’t a quick-fix mentality. It’s more of a “let’s listen to what the body is trying to say” approach.

Visceral Osteopathy

Visceral osteopathy is a gentle manual therapy that focuses on releasing tension and improving mobility of internal organs (such as the liver, stomach, and intestines) and their surrounding connective tissues. Restrictions in these areas can impact digestion, breathing, posture, and even musculoskeletal pain. This technique helps restore natural movement, enhance circulation, and support the body’s overall function.

Common conditions treated with Visceral Osteopathy:

  • Bloating
  • Constipation
  • Acid reflux
  • Pelvic pain
  • Menstrual discomfort
  • Chronic back or rib pain
  • Post-surgical adhesions
  • And More!

Our Approach to Osteopathic Care

At Revitalize Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic, our osteopathic treatment process is centered around you—not just your symptoms. We take the time to understand what your body has been through, how it moves, and where it might be holding tension or imbalance.

Getting to Know Your Body

Your first visit is more than a quick check-up. We take a detailed look at your medical history, lifestyle, and physical patterns to see how everything fits together. Whether it’s past injuries, stress, or the effects of everyday posture, we aim to get the full picture.

Ongoing, Adaptable Care

Healing isn’t always a straight line. We keep a close eye on how your body is responding, making adjustments to your care along the way. The goal is to not just ease discomfort, but to help your whole system move toward greater balance and resilience.

Thoughtfully Tailored Treatment

  • Hands-On Techniques: Gentle manipulations and adjustments to help release tight areas, encourage better circulation, and support natural alignment.
  • Soft Tissue Work: Subtle, targeted pressure that helps loosen restricted muscles and ease tension.
  • Rhythmic Movements: Encouraging the body’s internal systems—like fluids, nerves, and energy—to function more smoothly.
  • Movement Guidance: Small shifts in how you sit, stand, or move can make a big difference. We offer insights tailored to your day-to-day life.
  • Supportive Suggestions: Simple, at-home strategies to keep your body feeling good between visits.

Benefits of Osteopathic Treatment

People often come to osteopathy looking for relief—and leave with more than they expected. While every experience is different, many clients notice a range of meaningful changes over time, including:

  • Less Discomfort: A gradual easing of aches, tension, and stiffness in the body.
  • More Freedom to Move: Tasks like bending, walking, or turning your head may start to feel easier and more natural.
  • Better Postural Awareness: Subtle improvements in how you hold yourself throughout the day, often without even thinking about it.
  • Calmer Nervous System: Reduced stress and physical strain can lead to a deeper sense of calm and ease.
  • Overall Well-Being: When your body works better, so do other parts of your life—whether it’s sleeping more soundly or just feeling more at home in your own skin.

Osteopathy FAQs

Osteopathy is considered a very safe treatment for most people, including children, older adults, and pregnant individuals. However, like any manual therapy, it's important to discuss your full health history with your practitioner. If you have specific conditions such as osteoporosis, recent fractures, or acute infections, some techniques may need to be modified or avoided. A skilled osteopath will always tailor the session to ensure safety and comfort based on your needs and medical background.
The number of sessions depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people feel a noticeable improvement after just one or two appointments, while others benefit from a short series over several weeks. Chronic or complex issues may require more ongoing support. Your osteopath will check in regularly to reassess your progress and recommend adjustments. The goal is always to help you feel better as efficiently and sustainably as possible.
Absolutely. Osteopathy works well alongside other therapies like physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, and even counselling when appropriate. At Revitalize Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic, we often collaborate across disciplines to ensure you’re getting comprehensive, integrated care. Combining treatments can help address multiple layers of a condition—physical, neurological, and lifestyle-related—for better long-term results. If you’re already receiving another type of care, we’ll coordinate with your provider when possible to ensure alignment and consistency.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows your practitioner to assess and work with your body easily. Athletic wear, like a T-shirt and joggers or leggings, is ideal. You won’t typically be asked to fully undress, but depending on the techniques used, access to certain areas like the lower back or shoulders may be helpful. If specific attire is needed for your session, we’ll let you know in advance so you can feel totally prepared.
